I am a 23 year old man with a passion for music and the sound of my own voice, hence the blog you see before you. My ‘journey’ started in 2013 when I was mesmerised by Eminem’s ‘Rap God’ and since then I have developed an existence that orbits around music. I’ll deliberately take the slow route on a journey for more listening time. I take headphones on nights out and lumber them around like a handcuffed briefcase just for that cinematic homebound listening experience. The main reason I want to get a car is for the aux. You get the point.
If you have read the PSA you’ll understand that this blog is a selfish endeavour. I will listen at my own pace, in my own bizarre order and outdated manner. I will not be scoring or passing judgement on what is good, original, boundary pushing etc. You can go to Pitchfork or the Needle Drop for that. For me the listening experience is an intimate ritual. I know it’s contradictory to then want to share the experience. But I feel like those moments offer little windows into my soul that I would otherwise find difficult to share. And there’s catharsis in sharing it.
I am also learning this as I go, so excuse the blog if it sucks and looks like a tutorial template (it is) so any tips for improvement would be appreciated.
